Our clients purchased this as a vacation home. When we first visited it, the homeowners kept telling us, "It just feels cold." They loved the architecture and the beautiful natural light, but the white ceiling beams and cool finishes made the rooms feel less welcoming than they'd hoped. The entire home also needed to be furnished, and they weren't sure where to begin.

One of our first recommendations was to darken the ceiling beams. It was a relatively simple change, but it made a remarkable difference. The darker beams brought warmth to the rooms and even made the existing wall color feel softer, without having to repaint.

When it came to furnishing the home, we started with pieces the homeowners already loved. In the grand room, a bold piece of artwork helped guide the design. In the main bedroom, our client had a pair of chairs she was determined to keep. She asked, "I just love these. Do you think you can make them work?" Our response, yes! Of course we can.
