This mood board was created for a home in old town Fort Collins to address the unique challenges of a small, triangular loft area. We were tasked with a goal to design a space that would comfortably accommodate both casual TV watching and hosting parties, given the homeowners’ love for entertaining and their 84" big screen TV. The homeowner envisioned a beautifully styled space that was both comfortable and functional.

The sofa is upholstered in polyester velvet, chosen for its luxurious look and exceptional durability. Polyester velvet resists wear, fading, and stains, making it ideal for a lively households, like this one, with kids, pets, and frequent visitors. Accented with a cowhide rug and layered with natural textures, this space is designed to be both elegant and comfortable, perfect for entertaining, curling with a good book, watching football game, or simply unwinding in style.

The oversized mirror is strategically placed to reflect light and add visual depth, making the room feel more open and expansive. The large artwork over the balcony adds a striking focal point, grounding the space and drawing the eye upwards for a layered visual effect. A jute urn with natural branches complements the jute-woven ottomans on the opposite side, bringing a cohesive, organic texture that unifies both sides of the room.

In this small, angular corner, we selected curved accent chairs with a slim profile to maintain an open flow while providing comfortable seating. Upholstered in high-performance fabric, these elegant white chairs are stain-resistant and wear-proof, making them perfect for everyday use without sacrificing style. We added textured jute ottomans to bring a natural, organic element to the space, offering flexible seating or footrest options that complement the room’s relaxed and inviting feel.

These nesting accent tables bring both versatility and style to the room, allowing for flexible use while conserving space. The warm gold finish was chosen to harmonize with the tones in the large mirror and the subtle gold undertones in the coffee table, creating a cohesive, sophisticated palette throughout the space. The black frames of the tables also echo the frame and legs of the accent chairs, tying together the design with a unified, polished look.

In this uniquely shaped room, furniture with curves was used to soften the space’s sharp angles and architectural lines. The rounded shapes of the sofa, coffee table, and accent chair create a sense of flow and invite conversation, while the circular mirror and layered textures add warmth and balance, transforming a challenging layout into a comfortable, inviting retreat.
